Health And Wellness

Many towns and cities claim to pride themselves on cleanliness and environmental responsibility, but few live up to that promise like Little Rock, Arkansas does. Thanks to the effort and co-operation of city officials and citizens alike, the city can truly call itself one of the cleanest cities in all of America. Though it may not contribute in the same way home health care BC aids Canadians, this environmental focus can have positive effects on residents' health and safety, and we'll discuss how and why in this article.

In regards to the environment, Little Rock's success in city cleanliness stems largely from the number of community programs designed to get residents on the environmental band wagon. Though the city obviously handles larger cleanups such as street cleaning and sewage disposal, programs such as the curbside recycling, city litter bug patrol, and plastic bag recycling put the onus on citizens to reduce their own carbon footprint, thereby helping to reduce the national environmental impact. There is even a household chemical and electronics recycling center which helps to keep these products out of landfills and giving them a second life.

In addition to these personal efforts, there are also city sponsored events such as Great North Little Rock Cleanup where people from all over the city are encouraged to help cleanup Little Rock with litter pick up, park beautification, and other events that promote education and participation in city cleanup and energy efficiency, among other things.

Speaking of energy efficiency, there are community supported information kiosks which provide residents in Little Rock with tips on ways that they can conserve energy in their homes. Though this can sometimes be more confusing than duplex strainers, the information is easy to follow and includes things such as no cost home improvement ideas, eco friendly lifestyle changes, and support and relief programs to help you save energy, which includes a hotline for residents to call.

Citizens aren't the only ones encouraged to pitch in. Companies large and small, from large corporations down to the local water treatment chemical supplier, can pitch in with the Adopt-A-Street program, where they can take ownership of the cleanup and beautification of any of Little Rock's local streets for civil recognition. With the help of local companies, citizens can feel more encouraged knowing that they aren't alone in the fight.

These combined efforts not only help protect the health of citizens by keeping the local air and water supply clean, but by making the city of Little Rock beautiful, something that adds to the comfort and security of all citizens. Though they might not have the kind of tangible impact that septic tank pump trucks have on your sewage, everyone benefits from the effort. From lower energy use, which reduces carbon emissions and aids in air quality, to basic recycling, keeping plastics and other contaminants out of the ground, Little Rock has set a high standard for themselves and other cities around America.
